Phuket has a real cluster of international schools, but the island’s geography changes how you should think about choosing one. Unlike Bangkok, where traffic is the constraint, Phuket’s constraint is distance. Schools are spread across the island, and a daily commute from the wrong side of it eats hours a week.
Where you live decides more than you’d expect
Phuket splits roughly into the west coast beach areas (Patong, Kata, Karon), the more residential east and central areas near Phuket Town, and the northern end near the airport and Laguna. Most international schools sit in or near Phuket Town and the central belt, not on the beach roads. If you’re choosing a home first and a school second, check the actual drive time before you sign a lease, not the map distance.

Phuket’s international schools lean toward British and international curricula, with a mix of school sizes from smaller boutique campuses to larger established ones. Compare:

Phuket’s cost of living outside school fees is generally lower than Bangkok’s, but school fees themselves aren’t necessarily lower. Ask each school for tuition plus the one-off costs, application fee, deposit and registration, since these vary as much between Phuket schools as they do between Bangkok ones.
